Pocket friendly 'Dhabas' of Delhi.

RAJINDER DA DHABA

Location : AB-14, Safdarjung Enclave Market, Safdarjung, New Delhi

When I say mouth watering I really mean it. This place has three types of joints at the same point. A nice sit down restaurant, A slightly lesser nice sit down restaurant, and a giant parking lot where people just stand around while eating. A very well known name for non veg snacks and curries in south delhi, you can try here Afgani Chicken, Fish Fry, Murg Rara, Chicken Tikka, Mutton Korma, Galawati Kabab, Tandoori Chicken, Mughlai Paratha, Butter Chicken, Veg Platter.

LAXMAN DHABA AT IIFT

Location : Qutub Institutional Area, Opp. IIFT Main Gate, Katwaria Sarai, New Delhi

Located right in front of IIFT and away from the main road, the location is relatively peaceful. The dhaba is surrounded by greenery and frequented by a lot of college goers. It is famous for its parathas , I have had their Aalu Paratha , Gobhi Paratha and their Keema Paratha all of which are really good. Though it says the place is open only till 11pm, but often it goes beyond that , and late night you can sometimes see super bike gangs meeting up here for dinner.

OM HOTEL

Location : 16-17, Jungpura Extension Market.

This is your typical neighbourhood dhaba-turned mini-restaurant, which you walk to when you don't feel like cooking or eating what the cook has dished up. Located in Jungpura, the restaurant is ideal for takeaways or home delivery. A complete non-vegetarian paradise, its tandoori chicken is to die for as are its fish tikkas, tangri kebabs and chicken malai tikka. Truly a budget restaurant if there ever was one, the prices will never burn a hole in your pocket.

NEW GUPTA DHABA

Location : Cycle Market, 275,, Jhandewalan Extension, Jhandewalan, New Delhi

By every stretch or inflexible move of the imagination, this is a quintessential dhaba. The rajma chawal and paneer stuffed kulchas almost distract from the lack of air-conditioning. Almost. Ask for seating indoors. Picking up a snack? Ain’t nothing like their butter toast.

EXPRESS DHABA

Location : 489/55-1, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi

Your heart will pump a little faster if you are non-veg because I personally felt that this place is most popular because of it special chicken adraki dish and other non-veg items. Great spot to eat chicken sauce dishes, their chicken is truly extremely succulent & delightful. Dissimilar to other eatery they offer some good quantity with decent number of side chutneys along. This place won my heart when we ordered Chicken Tikka as starters, the dressing of the Tikkas was phenomenal and their mint chutney too was great.

APNA DHABA

Location : 30-31, GG-1, Main Market, Vikaspuri, New Delhi

When you're craving to eat some scrummy Cholle bhature and don't want to stand and wait for long like in monica cafe then Apna Dhaba comes to rescue. He serves some good cholle bhature and indian food at reasonable price. I started eating from here since last year and Am totally in love their cholle bhature. So definitely give this place a try.

JAI VISHNU RASOI

Location : B-6, DDA Market, Prashant Vihar, Sector 14, Rohini, New Delhi

Rohini houses some of the best Dhabas or Rasois in North West (or if you're so bold- Delhi). To then compete with best of the players in the game is not as easy as it looks. But this place impressed in little ways. Though there is some seating space, we wouldn't recommend you have it. Instead, the professionalism is seem in their delivery. The delivery is fast. Even if you pick up from the rasoi itself, you are timely informed about the order content and the bill via message. Impressive for a place like this.We tried Dal makhni which was thick and creamy and very delicious. It was a must try!

PREM DHABA

Location : 11139, East Park Road, Opposite JD Titler School, Karol Bagh, New Delhi

This place is for a typical Punjabi middle class family. A lot of variety in the non vegetarian section of the menu. Heard the waiter boasting of Korma and egg Keema. We ordered Butter Chicken, Daal Makhni and Chana Masala with Tandoori Roti. I would not say that the food was extraordinary or out of the world but definitely it was good and enjoyable. Their butter chicken curry was sweet and tangy and not just sweet. That was a good part. I relished the Daal and Chana as well. Chana Masala was good. I feel the spice lovers might not love this place as much because whatever I ate had a tad bit less spicy.

AMBERSARI DHABA

Location : C-125, Near Flyover Market, Lajpat Nagar 1, New Delhi

This Dhaba is located near the Flyover Market, Ambersari Dhaba is quite crowded and you won’t get a place very easily since it is hard to find a place to sit. Their food is very nice but not what you expect from an old place which has been serving since years. The Dhaba has been serving since a very long time and is famous from generations to generations. So overall the eating experience as well as the ambience is average. A little guide from Streets of Delhi, Their Mutton is spicy so if you love spicy food, That is something you should definitely try.

MEHFIL DHABA

Location : 2, Main Market, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi

A true modern day dhabha, located behind the main malviya nagar market, it may be a little difficult to find for first timers. Upon first impression, you might get a little disappointed as there is very little to call decor. But the food will totally cheer you up. Well the food was great in all sense, but the star was the Bharta chicken! You might be wondering as to what this dish is, it’s an original as far as I know , and I have never seen it being served any where else. It is Baingan Ka Bharta mixed with Chicken. The result is unique and beautiful. Chicken with a slight char grilled after taste of the Baingan Ka Bharta will blow you away.
