The Voldemort Disease. (You Know Who)

We often limit our health to just the physical aspects in life and ignore or choose to ignore the mental health, especially in our country, mental illnesses are like Voldemort, you don't take its name, especially when too many people are around, it is often even related to mental insanity.

It amazes me how often we use the word “depression” these days, depression is a serious mental illness and just like any other, it requires medication and proper care.

According to our family members and the so called ”log” of our society in the “log kya kahenge” series of our daily life, any problem in any youngsters life can be solved as follows

Get up early and go for a walk

Leave this damn phone for sometime

And then suddenly our pathetically weak minds gain immense power, enough to affect our health, so it turns out everything is “in your mind”

Just Imagine telling this to a dengue patient whose platelet counts are extremely low or telling a cancer patient that you don't need chemo, that “it's all in your mind”, it is probably nothing that you need to worry about, all you need to do is, wake up early, go for a walk leave this damn phone and all of it will be fine, who will be considered insane then?

1 person in every 4 persons is suffering from depression or anxiety in India, still we choose to ignore the severity.

Hold tight and breathe! You are not alone.

# The 10 step basic rules to fight depression I stick to are,

1.Proper dosage of the prescribed medicines and see a psychologist (if prescribed) at proper prescribed intervals but don't get habitual.

2. Proper sleep.

Have a healthy amount of sleep and sleep properly.

3. Give it time

Let the medicines and counseling do its work, let things fall into place, give it time.

4. Exercise

I know how hard itbis to drag yourself out of the bed when you are in depression, but TRY.

5. Feeling low is fine.

It is human to feel low, to feel sad, don't panic.

6. Ignore the “log kya kahenge”

Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna.

7. Know their is always more to life.

No matter how dark the sky looks, the Sun will still rise, know that it's darkest before the dawn.

8. Challenge negativity

Fight the negativity and face your storms.

9. Do something new

Do something new, break the routine, break the daily cycle and do something new, something you love, something that makes you happy.

10. Breathe!

Don't push yourself so hard, don't try mould yourself so hard that you crack. Fall down 7 times rise 8.

I want you to know that you you are Brave and stronger than you think you are, you will come out of it.

DON'T GIVE UP! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND RISE!
